Tulsa Detention Officer Arrested On Burglary, DUI Complaints

A Tulsa County Jail detention officer was arrested Monday morning in Sand Springs after police said he tried to break into city trucks. Dalton Wayne Wildcat, 25, was taken into custody just before 3 a.m. on Monday. Sand Springs Police were called to the water treatment facility after a janitor reported someone had broken into a city truck parked there and was trying to break into another.

First Baptist Church officially opened the doors to their new building nearly two years after they broke ground. 1 In Critical Condition After Crash In Tulsa

Police say 61-year-old, Landon Mason was speeding in a white Chevy pickup and lost control on the roundabout near 11th and Elgin. Officers say speeds caused him to cross the median and hit a dumpster wall so hard that he was ejected from the truck.

It's a Friday afternoon in November, and Tulsa Ballet dancers are working through a passage from the first ballet created by Blankenbuehler, the Tony Award-winning choreographer of "Hamilton" and "In the Heights," which will have its world premiere as part of the company's "Signature Series" performance in May. Blankenbuehler watches as the various couples come together and move apart, are lifted up and spun around, strike poses that obviously are designed to be filled with meaning. At one point, Blankenbuehler stops the action and tries to get across the feeling he wants dancers to create with this particular dance.

Tulsa Man Found Guilty Of Child Abuse

TULSA, Oklahoma - A Tulsa man was found guilty of child abuse Friday, and the jury recommended a sentence of 35 years.  Bryan Shenefield and his wife were arrested after a school counselor alerted police that a 6-year-old boy had extensive bruising. The boy told the school employee he had gotten into trouble over the weekend for having an accident on himself.

Firefighters closed off part of a northeast Tulsa Street early Wednesday as they put out a car fire in the middle of the road. News On 6 was there as firefighters put out the fire on 56th Street North, more than a mile west of Highway 169 at around 12:30 a.m. The Tulsa Fire Department says one of the things that made the fire difficult to fight was a leaking fuel tank that they believe was fueling the fire Deputies told News On 6 they plan to contact an Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigator to try and find the car's VIN number.

A Tulsa woman is in jail after police say she started a fire at a McDonalds restaurant late Sunday and then started a second fire at a Taco Bell nearby. She is identified as 35-year-old Lyza Vagin and they believe she started a fire in the back of the McDonalds in the 1800 block of South Garnett just after 11 p.m. Police showed up as firefighters put out the fire and talked with restaurant employees, who gave them a description of the woman.

Hundreds of students, parents, and staff packed the Tulsa Public Schools Board of Education meeting Monday night to push for the expansion of a local charter school. Toddler Struck By Vehicle Near Tulsa's Gathering Place

Officers say the toddler got away from a group of adults as they left the park just before 5 p.m. The child was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. The driver of the car was not arrested.


Tulsa Police Arrest Multiple People Found With Stolen Vehicles

Police say a stolen car out of Spavinaw was located at a gas station Saturday afternoon.  Officers say they discovered that the car was loaded with stolen copper and scrap metal. According to police, the car had three occupants, identified as Joshua Keller, Michael Richardson, and Brandon Rine.  Officers say one occupant admitted to stealing the copper and the driver admitted to knowing the car was stolen and that he had purchased it in exchange for drugs.

Police Investigating Armed Robberies At 2 Tulsa Apartments

The victim in one of the robberies told officers that a black male in dark clothing pointed a gun at her and another person at Shoreline Apartments on East 21st Street and took credit cards, money, keys, and a cell phone from them, police say. Officers say a K9 handler spotted a person matching the suspect's description getting into a car and driving out of the area.  They say the police helicopter followed that car until officers could stop it on Highway 169.

Route 66 Marathon Weekend Kicks Off In Downtown Tulsa

Police said it started when Catoosa Police tried to stop the driver near the Hard Rock Casino, but driver Jamie Hodges kept driving into Tulsa. "L'Dor V'Dor: Generation to Generation" is a new documentary produced by the Tulsa Historical Society, telling the story of Tulsa's Jewish community, with screenings beginning this week at Circle Cinema. Meaning essentially "from one generation to the next," "L'Dor V'Dor" will document that community from its settling in Indian Territory to its present-day commitment to the city, said Michelle Place, executive director of Tulsa Historical Society.

Man Sentenced To Life For 2017 Fatal Crash

A convicted car thief is on his way to prison for life, after he killed a man during a police chase last year. Police say Jerry Newman stole a truck and was driving against traffic on Highway 75 when he hit and killed an innocent driver, 23-year-old William Bruckman.

Tulsa Woman Shoots Ex-Boyfriend During A Struggle, Police Say

Officers were called to the home in the 12600 block of East 15th Street just after 5:20 a.m. Police say a woman, told officers when she answered the door, her ex-boyfriend pushed his way inside.  She told police, when he assaulted her, she grabbed her gun and shot him once. TPD says a woman shot her ex-boyfriend after he forced his way into her home near 15th and 129th E Ave. The woman told police he assaulted her so she grabbed a pistol and shot him.

Warming Centers Are Opening Around Tulsa As Temperatures Drop

As freezing temperatures continue to sweep across Green Country, warming centers are opening their doors as first responders ask people to limit their time out in the cold. EMSA says the cold affects young kids and the elderly quicker, and for those who are unable to get inside on cold nights, warming centers are open – in fact, some never close.


Tulsa Building Under Renovation To Become Medical Marijuana Dispensary Catches Fire

Part of the building houses a physical therapy office and another part is under renovation to become a medical marijuana dispensary. Firefighters say they arrived at the scene at around 7:15 p.m. and got the fire under control within about 15 minutes.
